An Optometrist (OD) is a licensed healthcare professional who provides primary vision care, including eye exams, vision tests, prescribing glasses and contact lenses, and diagnosing and managing certain eye conditions like glaucoma or infections. Optometrists complete a four-year Doctor of Optometry program after undergraduate studies and must pass national and state licensure exams to practice.
